What is neoprene rubber

Neoprene rubber is a synthetic rubber that has good aging resistance, ozone resistance, and temperature resistance, and is often used as a gasket, strip, etc.
Neoprene rubber sheet is a multi-purpose elastomer with good overall performance. It has good tensile strength and excellent physical toughness;good heat resistance, ozone resistance, and weathering resistance, with better heat resistance than nitrile rubber sheet and worse weathering resistance than EPDM rubber sheet. It is not afraid of direct sunlight and does not fear twisting or refrigerants. It is resistant to dilute acids and silicone-based lubricating oil,but not phosphate ester hydraulic oil.It tends to crystallize and harden at low temperatures, and its storage stability is poor.It expands greatly in mineral oil with a low benzene point, and the general service temperature range is-50°C to 150°C.Neoprene rubber sheet has flame retardancy and does not spontaneously ignite. It can burn when in contact with flames and extinguish itself when away from the flames. The oxygen index is 38-41.An oxygen index of 27 or higher indicates that the material is difficult to burn.Any rubber sheet containing sufficient halogen has flame retardancy. The oxygen index is a measure of the material’s combustion performance, defined as the lowest volume of oxygen gas required to sustain a candle-like flame when the sample is tested in a nitrogen-oxygen mixture.Neoprene rubber sheet has a very high oxygen index and is difficult to burn, second only to fluorine rubber sheet.
